The boutique hotel in the heart of Santurce will also feature new amenities.
Juan Carlos Morales, majority owner of Patio Elba, confirmed the purchase of a building next to the boutique hotel, located on Fernández Juncos Avenue in Santurce.
The structure, which until recently housed the offices of the Buena Vibra firm, will allow the addition of 14 rooms and a space for coffee and breakfast service. The investment in the project is estimated between $2.3 million and $3 million.
“I used to think everyone wanted to stay near Isla Verde beach or in Condado, but I realized many people are looking for places that support the local community,” Morales shared, explaining the motivation behind the property’s expansion.
“We originally expected our nightly rate to be between $125 and $165, but the average reached $214 and has stayed there,” he added.
Morales believes the hotel will continue helping to spark a “revival” of Santurce beyond Ponce de León Avenue.
